Sherburn House Charity operates a 60 bed Residential Care Home for older people. The home is located in Beddell House, an early Victorian building originally built as a hospital. The service is able to offer permanent residential care to older people who have lived in the North East of England during some part of their lives. Temporary respite care is also available, as well as trial stays for anyone considering a more permanent move.
Sherburn House Charity is able to accommodate 19 older people in sheltered housing. An attractive row of cottages, named Thornley House, houses most of this number, with the remainder located in a smaller unit nearby.
The charity has a small number of units of independent accommodation. These are available for elderly but generally healthy persons who require no additional support.
